In the modern world, Pop culture is becoming stronger than the traditional culture. Traditional culture is a set of beliefs, traditions, and values of a particular society. Pop culture on the other hand is a culture based on cultural products such as art, music, film, television, literature, and fashion. The people who are icons of pop culture hold immense significance in the lives of society members, they are followed, cherished, cared for, and loved for their services.

From December 2019 the world is suffering from a plaque known as Coronavirus or simply Covid-19. It started from China and slowly spread across the globe affecting millions of people around the world. Some have lost their lives to this virus, while others have fought their way back to health. Below is a list of 5 Pop culture celebrities, who fought COVID-19, and came out strong.

Tom Hanks

The 63-year-old American megastar, who through his acting has mesmerized audiences across the globe. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama in 2016 for his services to film fraternity. The Forest Gump star along with his wife Rita Wilson, on 11th March announced that they have contracted coronavirus while in Australia. They were kept in a hospital ward in Queensland for 5 days, after which they were shifted to a rented property for 2 weeks for self-quarantine. They recovered and returned home to Los Angeles on 27th March. They pledged to donate for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Andy Cohen

The host and executive producer of the late-night show, "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” announced on 20th March through a tweet that he has tested positive for COVID-19. But the energetic host fought his way back, and recovered on 30 march and resumed his show.

Greg Rikaart

Kevin fisher of the young and restless, on 23rd march informed the world that he has tested positive to COVID-19. He suffered from a lingering cough, low fatigue, and breathing issues while battling the virus. To his fans' delight, the Emmy award winner announced that he too has won his battle against the virus.

Kristofer Hivju

The actor best known for playing the character of Tormund Giantsbane in the famous fantasy series game of thrones tested positive to COVID-19 along with his wife. However it was not long before the actor announced his victory over the virus.

Chris Cuomo

The American journalist had complained about high fever and body aches, so as per his doctor's suggestion, he tested himself for COVID-19, and to his despair the result tested positive for COVID-19. The CNN anchor battled the virus for weeks, before testing negative towards the end of April. However, his wife and son are still fighting the virus

The virus has shaken the entire world, and we are all in this together. We have to unite ourselves like never before. The one thing these Pop culture icons who have recovered from COVID-19 had in common was the urge to come back out of it and serve their fans. So we have to look upon them and not fear this virus and fight it out.
